Meet the Track Chair: Alexandra Simone, Social Media Strategist and Content Manager, Ramapo College of New Jersey
What advice would you give first-time eduWeb Digital Summit attendees who are looking to make the most of the conference? “Network, just for the fun of it! You never know who you will meet and what creative ideas your conversations will spark. I know that’s cliche but it’s so true. If you can, you should also try to go to at least one presentation that is completely outside of your job role. You’ll always learn something new and see what other people are doing in higher education!”
What themes do you expect to emerge in your track this year?
“This year I think we’ll see the following trends discussed: smart tools to utilize as admins/brands, how to incorporate live content into your strategy, tapping into resources already found on campus, and the newest features of the top-performing platforms. But I’m not big on guessing–I like the surprise of learning the unexpected! It just means you’ll have to come to hear the trends in person or check back after the conference is over!”
Have you visited Boston before? What are you most excited to see and do?
“I went to Stonehill College, my brother went to Boston University, and my sister went to Bentley University. Needless to say, Boston is no stranger to me. It was my college city, and I go back every now and then to visit my siblings who still live and work in the area. I’m most excited to actually stay in the heart of Boston (a first!) and hopefully to visit a few places that were not explored during my college years (college kids tend to stick to the same hot spots, at least, we did!). I love the city’s rich history; I wrote my History major thesis about the differences and relationships of Liberty and Loyalism in Boston and Massachusetts. But sadly, I am still on a quest to finish the Freedom Trail!”
