Meet the Track Chair: Conny Liegl, Senior Designer for User Experience, Web, and Graphics, Cal Poly State University
Content & Email Marketing Track
What advice would you give first-time eduWeb Digital Summit attendees who are looking to make the most of the conference?
“Be organized: eduWeb has 5 different tracks across various topics. Take advantage of the conference app to customize your experience: find the sessions, speakers, social events that match your interests and expertise. Be social: If possible, join the pre-conference meetup, attend evening events, and meet new people during the breaks. eduWeb is as much as learning as it is about making connections, building your professional network, and helping you to find mentors in your field. Be adventurous: Venture out to sessions that cover topics you’re not familiar with. Say hi to a stranger. Listen and talk to presenters and consider submitting a proposal next year!”
What themes do you expect to emerge in your track this year?
“We will see content strategies truly crossing the boundaries of media and storytelling becoming essential in all areas of audience engagement. This year’s presenters will showcase new ideas from captivating podcast production to comprehensive email marketing in cross-departmental collaborations. You can experience best practices from institutions across the country, and learn hands-on methods that will make your campus stories stand out from the crowd.”
Have you visited San Diego before? What are you most excited to see and do?
“YES! San Diego embodies the quintessential California experience with ‘chillaxed’ beach vibes and near-perfect weather at all times. Enjoy the evening entertainment in the Gaslamp Quarter; you’ll find a number of bars and restaurants close to the conference venue. Bike or walk along the Boardwalk, or try surfing for an authentic oceanside experience.”
